I do not think that one treatment applies to all. The cognitive approach is what I mostly work with: Mindfulness, Self-Compassion, & Acceptance & Commitment Therapy (ACT).

One session is approx. 50 minutes; weekly sessions are recommended in the beginning.

The first session is about getting to know the person and why they are seeking help. Often a person comes in with a lot of unresolved issues that kind of blend in with the current problem. Individuals are often not aware of why they are suffering.

Therapy is therefore about exploring thoughts, emotions, and feelings. Finding the right treatment is very important since we are all different and respond differently to our environment.
